Company Background

In 1976, Intra Chairman and CEO John Battista, Sr. founded the company in his garage, with a Toolmaker grinding machine (circa 1945) borrowed from his father-in-law. He was determined to be innovative and to produce quality work, on-time, and at a competitive price.

Over the past 30 years, we have become a total solution provider of precision measurement systems to manufacturing companies worldwide. For years we have specialized in gauging systems and related services. Our acquisition in 2005 of Siemens Measurement Systems (formerly Moore Products) in the UK, rounds out our offerings of over 60 years experience in gear inspection systems with expertise in "double flank functional gear inspection". Our strategic partnerships in Mexico, China and Japan help us serve customers around the globe.

Today Intra is a global leader in precision measurement systems. The garage has given way to a complete machine shop, sharing a 50,000-square-foot facility with assembly, engineering, estimating, sales, project management and administration. While we've grown significantly, our focus on the customer and on quality is the same as it was in 1976.

As for the old grinding machine, it was retired years ago. It now stands quietly in our lobby, reminding us that despite the growth of technology, it is on the factory floor — where hands get dirty — that we meet our customers' needs everyday.
